Your Skills
- Bachelor's degree or College degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant field.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design software (particularly Solid Edge).
- Experience as a mechanical designer in a manufacturing company.
- Bilingualism, spoken and written (English and French).
- Knowledge of the MS Office suite and an ERP system.
- Knowledge of the transport and/or automotive sector (asset).
- Understanding of occupational health and safety principles.
- Resourcefulness and autonomy.

Your challenge
- Carry out various design projects relevant to product development and innovation (complex vans, R&D of new options offered to customers, production templates, equipment for workstation layouts, special projects, etc.).
- Actively participate in product standardization activities as well as raw material cost reduction projects.
- Perform tests (prototypes), calculations and simulations related to the development of new products.
- Participate in the identification of the needs of the projects targeted by the company.
- Collect the information necessary to carry out the mandates in progress.
- Conduct preliminary research of potential suppliers for new materials or components required for current projects, then conduct follow-up meetings with them throughout the project.
- Develop and update documentation related to research and development projects (reports, project log, notes, etc.).
- Be an active agent in the development and improvement of the product as well as the plant.
- Support the engineering department in the progress of ongoing projects, including the implementation and monitoring of the results on the floor of the various projects carried out.
- Act as technical support for the department, as well as for the production team, as needed.
- Support, as needed, the production process, especially for special orders (feasibility study, weight study, compatibility study between various options).
- Perform all other related tasks in support of the department.
